Hi folks,
Last
night just as the three of us were getting on the
motorbike
to go out for dinner, the apartment guard
stopped
us to give us a book from UK sent to Joy on
special
delivery. That book was Bliss by Peter Carey
and
twice winner of the Booker Prize.
I was
wondering what the book was about as the cover
looked
vaguely familar. Joy than told me she was
given
the book because the publisher used a photo that
she
took as its cover.
I
nearly dropped from my bike in surprise. I always
thought
she took good pictures only with precise
direction
from me. The revelation that the picture
that
she took without any direction from me was
thought
to be good enough for a book cover was soul
shaking.
She did not even told me she got a nice
check
for that a couple months ago. I might not even
have
known of it if we were not stopped to be given
that
book.
Maybe I
should not have directed her so much on the
photos
of Tink and me. Maybe the accolades you folks
kept
giving to Joy as the photographer were actually
warranted.
I may even have to think of her more than
one who
merely holds a camera to my direction and
pressing
the button.
Her
original photo is in

the
photo is titled "The Vanguard at Nimbin's
museum"
