Hi
folks,
You recalled in my Tsaoling revisited
http://www.geocities.com/shanlung9/wtsaolingrevisit.htm
that I was wined and dined by my true
birdwhisperer
friend there for my puny gift of a clicker. I
told
myself there and then I need to get back with
a bottle
of Drambuie.

Then I thought how could I open a bottle
meant for him
to drink with him? That will be rather mean
of me. So
I thought I should bring him two bottles, one
for him
and the other we drink.
So it was on July 24 that we went there
again. I
reassured my wife and swore an oath that never
again
will I try to take short-cuts. With that
promise, we
went on our bike with Tinkerbell. I was also
curious
to see how the damage was like after that
incredible
wild deluge of 7-2 when 2700mm of rain fell.
I also knew of petrol station that I had to
backtrack
a few km to enroute to top up my bike to
lessen
paranoia of empty gas tank.
We got there much quicker this time. Took
some photos
of the town in better light this time.
Checking in to
the hotel, I gave him a call to meet him
later in the
evening. Then we decided to ride to that
plain below.
You recall the road that lead to the track to
the hut?
The road existence ended beyond a certain
point. That
track and hut existed only in memories now.
Did a bit of recall to give Tink some
exercise.
Then in the evening, we were back at Mr Lin's
house to
meet them and his son this time. I was
surprised to
see he had two scimitar babbler this time
flying
about. He told me about 3 months ago, he had
another
two rescue and there were three until one
fell to a
neighbourhood cat. I stopped being
flabbergasted any
more. I know I was good with creatures bright
and
beautiful, but against Lin, my good just
wasnt good
enough. You folks may be awed by my taking
Tinkerbell
about with me and letting her fly about. But I
need
the harness to feel secure enough. Lin, my
birdwhisperer friend, can get wild birds
eating from
his hands, doing their poop outside before
flying back
in to play with him and of level way way
above me.
I dare not take of clicker training or any
other
training with him to save further
embarrasement on my
part. We focused our attention on a bottle of
Drambuie and left them very late and
regretful the
hours passed so fast.
There was this massive earthquake a few years
ago
which brought down side of a mountain in
Tsaoling
forming a lake. That became a tourist spot.
The next morning we rode there to find the
lake
disappeared. That massive deluge cut a
channel
through that earlier landslide, like pulling
the plug
in a bathtub.
